About HMWH Fantasy Football
It all began with a Tequilia...
The He Man Woman Haters Fantasy Football League started from a love of football and Tequilia (there was also something to do with cigars in there at some point). Founded in 2001-ish, HMWH has grown all the way from 12 teams in 2001 to, well, 12 teams in 2021 because that's the limit.
The HMWH league has morphed over the years from a standard, run-of-the-mill fantasy football league, to what is now a serious season-long commitment and the best league any of it's participants have ever played in!
The season starts in July when the e-mails come flowing in from the Commish getting everyone hyped up for the season. Next we have the Kicker and Defense draft in late August. Since no one really cares about these positions we draft them ahead of time, and it's a great reason to get together and drink!
After that it's the MAIN EVENT. The Labour Day Classic if you will... a couple rounds of tequilia, followed by a round of golf and beer, followed by the auction draft intermingled with more beer and tequilia!
Once the season kicks off it is 4 months of football, trash-talking and bi-weekly supplemental drafts (with the requisite tequilia and beer of course)! Throw in the thanksgiving day celebration and you have one hell of a season.
It all finishes up with the end of the year get together in January, which pits the champ against the rest of the league for the Pro-Bowl pot! Hell of a way to finish off the season!
Next 8 months are for recovery and reflection, then we do it all over again!
